Justin D. Snider

A Little About Me

Hello, My name is Justin Dale Snider and I'm running for a seat on the City Council here in Republic (Ward III).  My wife and I live here in Republic on East Charles St. and are expecting our first child in August.

I've lived in Republic for most of my life. Growing up, I participated in the Boy Scouts (Troop 174) and attended Republic Schools. In High School, I participated in AFJROTC all four years before graduating in 2011. After graduating, I enlisted in the USAF and served for several years before separating and returning to Republic in 2017 to be close to friends and family. Since returning, I've earned my Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science from MSU and started working at Jack Henry as a Software Engineer.

Having grown up in Republic, I've seen this town change a lot throughout the years. We've exploded in size and are exponentially growing with new neighbors moving in and business opening nearly every time you turn around. I want to join the City Council to do my part in helping the community continue to grow in a safe and healthy manner. Republic is my home and I desire to see it be the best it can be for me, my Family, and the Community as a whole.

Why Should you vote for me?

Your vote matters and I don't just want your vote, I want to earn your vote. As a member of the council, I will fight for the welfare of the community while bringing a fresh perspective, new ideas, and a willingness to listen to those I represent to ensure their voices are heard. Having grown up in Republic, I am familiar with our community and what makes it special. Even with the growth we have seen, we are still a small town where families can live and grow. As a soon-to-be father, I am driven to ensure this continues to be the case because every decision affects not only you, but myself and my family. Further, my time in the military has allowed me to develop both strong leadership and strategic planning skills while my work in the fast paced and ever evolving software engineering field has developed both critical thinking and problem solving skills. These skills would be a valuable asset in our local government. By voting for me, you are supporting a candidate who will take care of the community and believes in Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability in city governance.

I believe our city's rapid growth is the greatest issue we are facing. That is not to say growth is in itself bad, but irresponsible and poorly planned growth is something we must avoid. As we grow, we need to ensure both our City Services and Infrastructure are properly funded and equipped to handle increased demand. For instance, I'm sure many such as myself have noticed how congested our roadways have become over the years. This is only one example but a visible indication of the strain the rest of our infrastructure and even emergency services may be facing with growing demand.
